Allen Hayes writes: " The signature on
this piece is problematic, in that it's been scuffed. However,
there's no doubt in our minds that it's by Marie Chino's third daughter,
Grace. She always drew her "G" and her "C" with square corners, and
signature or not, this was made by a master potter. The fact that
it's signed indicates that it's not from Grace's early (1950-1960) period,
and the traditional design suggests it's not one of her later (1980-1990)
pieces."
