I love this canteen with the turtle on top! Jessie Garcia was a
contemporary of matriarchs, Lucy Lewis and Marie Z. Chino. She produced
the same classic designs on nice thin pottery. Her daughter, Sarah Garcia
(d.) and granddaughter, Debbie Brown are also known for their very fine pottery,
and exquisite painting. This canteen is in great shape for it's age (late
1960's or 70's) and it has very little spalling. It's a great piece of
history, well priced, and very beautiful.
