About Us

Traditional Pueblo Arts
was born online in 1998, and moved into it's first bricks-and-mortar
location in 2002, where it shared a very beautiful shop with River Trading
Post in Scottsdale. Five years later, Pueblo Arts and River Trading
Post moved to a wonderful new shop on Main Street in between Marshall Way
and Goldwater Blvd. Pueblo Arts specializes in American Indian
pottery, and gifts inspired by Native America. It is owned and managed
by Kathi Ouellet. Kathi represents both Pueblo Arts and River Trading
Post in Scottsdale, and has been a judge for the Heard Museum Guild, an avid
participant in the Scottsdale American Indian
Art Association and the Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, and |

Traditional Pueblo Arts
is dedicated to offering the collector the very finest traditionally
made art works created solely by tribally enrolled Native American
Indians. Often, these works are innovative and fresh --
traditionally made but designed with a contemporary flare. Other
works appear to be timeless, the designs passed along for generations or
inspired by the art of the ancients.
We carry art for the serious
collector as well as the novice, and we are happy to assist you in your
selection. We want to bring you affordable art that will grace your home
with it's beauty while increasing in value over time.

Whenever
possible, we obtain works directly from the artist to support the
artist and his or her family, as well as assure its authenticity. We
support those who have a reverence for the past, and encourage them to carry the traditions into the future.
We respect and cherish the people, their art and their history.

Unless otherwise noted, all pottery is hand-coiled,
signed by the artist, and made in
the traditional way. We do not use floor wax or other polishing agents
on our pottery, nor are photos touched up to disguise defects. Each piece
is maintained respectfully in its natural state.

We do buy and/or consign pottery or other
Native-made artworks from Private Parties and estates.
We always have an interest in
purchasing or consigning Native-made hand-coiled pottery. We will work
with you to determine if we can help you sell your pottery or if there is a
better sales venue for you. We do not, however, give appraisals or
evaluations over the phone, nor do we evaluate pottery for sale on eBay or
from other galleries. We feel this is only fair.

Discounts

|
Many people expect us to
give them a discount...
We realize that many Native Art dealers have a practice of
marking up their prices so that they can offer a discount. This
often makes people feel that they are getting a good deal.
Pueblo Arts does not play that game, and practices integrity and
truthfulness in it's pricing practices. We offer quality art at a fair
price. Period. You never have to guess at the "real price"
or wonder if you have bargained hard enough. |
